FAQ's

Q
When is the best time to get results?
A Results of test are usually available 7 days after the test is performed. Please phone the surgery after 11.30am to ask for your results. The receptionist will then be able to advise you if any further action is required.

Q How long do I need to be off work before I require a doctor’s line?
A No certificate is required under DSS regulations if you are off work for less than 4 days due to illness.
If you’re off work for up to 7 days, complete a self-certification form, available from your employer. If you’re off work for more than 7 days, you’ll need a certificate from your doctor - please contact the receptionist who will find out for you if you require an appointment with the doctor.
If you’re claiming benefit from a private sickness or accident insurance policy, your doctor will complete the insurance company's claim certificate. A fee is charged for this service.

Q When can I pick up my prescription?
A Patients on regular medication can get repeat prescriptions by phoning or calling in to the surgery, or by sending in a written request. Prescription requests take two working days to process.

Q If I move house do I have to change doctors?
A When you’re moving house, tell us your new address and telephone number immediately. We will then let you know if it’s still in our practice area. If not, and you’ve moved out of our practice area, register with another doctor as soon as possible. Don’t delay or there may be problems if you need a doctor urgently. After you re-register, your records will be transferred automatically to your new doctor.
